Christmas Classroom 2015

We were set a challenge by the School Council to decorate our classes. Prize for the best... Well we love a challenge in Swifts!
So we started with a Grotto complete with snow, fairy lights and cheeky little elves!

We made Reindeer to put our Christmas chocolates in. We really enjoyed making the red pom poms.

Our Nativity Christmas cards were really effective too.

Welcome to Swifts (do not feed the reindeer... or the elves!)

Mexican Cooking

As part of our Americas Topic we found out about the methods of farming practised by the Maya and some of the foods they farmed, hunted and gathered. Then we spent the morning cooking up a 'Mexican Feast'. Tortilla, salsa and guacamole were on the menu and it was delicious!

We wore gloves to cut up the spicy chillies.

Mixing up the 'dough' for the Tortilla.

Avocado for the Guacamole.

Add a quirt of lime!

We loved it all - but our favourite was the Tortilla.
