Dinosaurs

We wanted to see how big some of the dinosaurs really were so took our metre sticks and measurements into the playground and sketched them out.
The T-Rex head was 1.5m long with teeth the size of bananas!

The diplodocus had a very long neck and a really small head!

The brachiosaurus was longer than the length of a swimming pool and only just fits on the playground!

This one is a plateosaurus from the late Triassic period and not as big as the others.

Mexican Cooking

As part of our Americas Topic we found out about the methods of farming practised by the Maya and some of the foods they farmed, hunted and gathered. Then we spent the morning cooking up a 'Mexican Feast'. Tortilla, salsa and guacamole were on the menu and it was delicious!

We wore gloves to cut up the spicy chillies.

Mixing up the 'dough' for the Tortilla.

Avocado for the Guacamole.

Add a quirt of lime!

We loved it all - but our favourite was the Tortilla.

Heroes of Troy Performance

The Greek army are ready to fight...

... all because Helen is taken away from Menelaus.

But Menelaus and his soldiers vow to get revenge.

They need some heroes on their side... enter Odysseus and Achilles.
Paris busts some moves!

The narrators did a brilliant job.

What is this? A gift from the Greeks?

Does this mean it is the end of the Trojan War?

Cassandra's prophecy was right!
Well done Swifts. The children, parents and carers all enjoyed your acting, singing and dancing.

Water Worlds

We have done lots of art work based on our topic this term.
Everyone contributed to this mural.
Some of our parents helped us with our batik when they came
to our class carousel.
Some of our designs show under the sea scenes...
Some of us used a pond theme.
